Makiko Hirabayashi (born 1966) is a Japanese jazz pianist based in Denmark. She learned to play piano at the age of four, and subsequently violin at nine. As a teenager, she became interested in jazz and won a fellowship at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. After graduation, she moved to Denmark. She says that her compositions were influenced by classical, oriental, and Scandinavian music.
